Help with Carrier Bearing Angles

So, where to begin. I've had this truck for several years now and the truck has always had an issue with wheel hop. Just recently took it to a shop and they said that when the truck was built they did not set the drivetrain at the correct angles. The mechanic says that the truck drivetrain needs lowered at least 8". Can anyone help me determine if this is accurate or not? The truck is a 51 GMC body and sits on a 74 k5 frame.
Thanks,
Wayne

Re: Help with Carrier Bearing Angles

drivetrain lowered 8"????.....how much angle is on your driveshaft?...drivetrain angle is different than just lowering a drivetrain...and carrier bearing is another...but all related
the 51 body sitting on the k5 frame [in itself] wouldn't cause driveline angle issues
if engine, transmission, transfer case are still mounted to the k5 frame the angles shouldn't have changed that much [not 8"] unless theres a huge lift kit involved....
and I wouldn't have thought a k5 had a hanger bearing
