Yeah, it's probably an I not a 1. Sounds like it's a 65 with 66 grille and/or letters.

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

if it is an "i" then it should have an inline 6, and there is usually a little space beteween the i and the 1
66's were released in late 65, so it is possible that it is a 66 bought and titled in 65...
there was onother guy here once that had the opposite problem, his was titled as a 67.. all probably depends on how the state/county were titling in those years...

When I went to the local DMV they said a "I" could not be in the first position so they changed it on the title to a 1......???Kieth

you may just have to get someone else at the mvb that has a few more smarts or a senior person to have a look at it
my reg actually had mine as SK and I just went in one day and they came out and looked at it and corrected it right now as 5K

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck

I believe the issue here is the federal numbering vin rules and the latest computer software. Under the new regulations the vins must be 17 digits and conform with certain parameters......the number in the first position does not conform to that software configuration. Kieth

That's it, I'm moving to Phoenix. Even if I have to live in my van down by a river.
