Re: Bench Seats, Having them Reupholstered

This seat is on its way to its new home in Alabama. The people drove 10 straight hours, up to Ohio, to pick it up.

I’ll need to know for sure, what year seat, the color & fabric and the style. That way I’ll make sure I’ll get one ready for spring. And an approximate window of time that you will be rolling thru Ohio, come springtime. I believe you have my cell now, just text me the details.

Re: Bench Seats, Having them Reupholstered

WOW! Darren didn't waste anytime getting home and installing his seat. He drove all the way up from Alabama & back. He got here in Ohio fairly early, Friday morning. These are the pics he sent, Saturday around noon.
Looks Awesome!

Re: Bench Seats, Having them Reupholstered

I just wanted to send a shout out to Tina and thank her for her help this weekend. She does some excellent work but she took some time to speak with me via Text message when I attempted to do my own seat. I am going to say that while I don't think mine turned out too bad, im going to leave this to the professionals from now on

Thank you Bob, but I really don’t think I helped out that much. You had all the hard work, and your seat turned out just fine.

Working on getting some of the seat hardware sandblasted. Got a lot done, but still have quite a bit to do. Very tedious work indeed!

Trying my hand at some interior parts dyeing. The blue headliner trim and sun visors was dyed Carmine Red. Seatbelts are Carmine Red also.

Re: Bench Seats, Having them Reupholstered

I built this seat awhile back, but i never really tried to sell it. This is a 81-87 seat in Saddle Tan Velour. Same as always, the frame, tracks and hardware have all been sandblasted and repainted. Tracks slide like new!!

How many spray cans of paint/dye do you think it would take to do a crew cabs door panels? Not change the color just re-spray the original.

Doing the same color, it shouldn’t take but maybe 2 cans per panel. Maybe only one. It’s when you do a color change, it takes more.

Picked up another seat core. Still had a few broken springs that needed replaced.

Re: Bench Seats, Having them Reupholstered

Finally getting around to doing a seat for my own truck. It will be a fully restored seat. Frame will have a new grid and springs. Tracks look and slide like new. I will be using an original foam from a Rear Crew Cab. Those hardly ever get sat on.

Re: Bench Seats, Having them Reupholstered

USA1 Industries used one of the seats I built for a customer, on their Facebook page. They are featuring the Hinge Garnishes. Kind of cool!!
