292ci Inline 6 rebuild kit suggestions
Anyone have a suggestion/ recommendations for an engine rebuild kit for a 292ci inline 6?
I think I'm going to build what I have, with a single turbo. I just need to source a rebuilt kit to get started. I'm thinking a .60 over bore with a lump kit?

I used to get good prices on rebuild kits from PAW [Performance Automotive Warehouse] but they folded years ago. Although Jegs and Summit don't publish a lot of Chevy L6 parts in their catalogs, they still want your money. If you request a rebuild kit for a 292 they will probably set you up. Try their Tech Lines. www.inliners.org might be a good source [also much Turbo knowledge there] and if you're a member of Inliners International you can get a percentage off on Ross [forged] pistons. www.langdonsstovebolt.com Tom Langdon is a retired GM prototype engineer -- he's very experienced with Chevy L6s. [Could be the actual Wizard of Oz who first invented the L-25 (292), I dunno?] Clifford used to sell engine rebuild kits for 250s and 292s, as well as hi perf candy. www.cliffordperformance.net Have you read Leo Santucci's "Chevrolet Inline Six Cylinder Power Manual"? It is The Bible on Chevy L6 rebuilds. In a 2nd Edition now. I only have the first, but I shook hands with him at Daytona about 13 years ago. Nice guy. Tom Lowe is now The Man on L6 Turbo builds -- www.12bolt.com That should get you started on homework. Good luck. UPDATE: Tom Langdon has sold off the "Late Model'' Chevy L6 Line to Tom Lowe at 12 Bolt. Langdon will specialize in 216-235-261 ''Early'' L6 gear. Lowe has the parts for 230-250-292 Chevy L6s.

Re: 292ci Inline 6 rebuild kit suggestions
Start with Leo Santucci's book, 2nd edition.
SPA tubo manifold, Clifford intake, TLowe's forged pistons, reconditioned rods with ARP bolts, etc.

Re: 292ci Inline 6 rebuild kit suggestions
No "Kits" are available for performance builds so you'll have to purchase parts and pieces.
Turbo pistons, cam ground for turbo use, lumps, and other items can be purchased at 12bolt.com. The inliner's power manual is a must for a performance build.
