Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

Wow ,every time you change it up ,it looks so much better but it looked great before too. Still my favorite stepper .I know where a medium red 72 stepper is close to me but they wont sell it ,it would be nice next to my fleetside.

Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

I'll get a closer shot of the wheels sometime this week, and possibly some better photos. The sun was in the wrong spot and shadowed the wheels too much, but I was excited to get them on and take some pictures.

The drop is from using ECE 2.5" drop spindles and 2" drop springs up front and 6" Hotchkis springs with 3/4" drop blocks for the rear. In case anyone is wondering, it's not c-notched.

John, the front plate is just a TN state flag plate. I've lived in TN nearly my whole life, so I decided I wanted to show pride in my home state.

Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

I'm Sorry ... But I'm going to have to copy your wheel choice I think they look great and I'm a fan of the Nitto 555 tires . We're only 30 miles apart so you'll have to stay on your side of town !

Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

its funny because i have the same wheels and I just cant get into them.

ive been actively trying to find something else since I bought the truck but im not a fan of the available options.

I was thinking about trying to run adapters if I could make c5 z06 wheels fit...but im still up in the air about that

Yeah, when it comes to 5x5 bolt pattern, the options are limited. I really wanted a set of Forgelines, but the cost is too hard to justify. Just keep looking and be patient and something will come along.

Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

How is the fitment in the rear? Any rubbing? I know stepsides are tight on space compared to fleetsides. How are they traction-wise?

I can fit my hand(which is still rather large) between the tire and bedside. There's not alot of sidewall bulge on the tires, so they clear pretty well. Since I don't have a rear sway bar yet, I may need to run about a 1/4" spacer if I plan to do alot of hard cornering. For normal street driving, it should be fine, though.

As for traction, it's better than what I had before, but it still gets loose easy. I may need to start messing with pinion angles.

Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

Did you go 285's on all 4 corners? Thinking about a 295/35/18 Rear and 265/35/18 front. Any rubbing with a 285 on the front?

Yes, 285/40's on all four corners. All clear up front.

Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

Nice upgrade, once again. The wheels lend to the whole built for sports handling thing you have going on with your truck

Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

Nice rims you have there. I would love to have those on my truck, but for the time being, I am stuck in the 6 lug arena. I wish there were more options for us 6-luggers...
