Drivers Side Door Jam Switch

Was having trouble getting the courtesy light to turn off which in turn drained my battery. After some investigating, it appears the drivers side door jam switch was going bad.

So here is my rookie question, where does the driver side wire harness run from inside the cab? I took the switch out and the light will not go off at all. The harness either dropped down or just vanished because now I can't hook the switch up and can't locate the wire.

Something this easy shouldn't be this hard!!!!

UPDATE: Found the wire (not sure why it was plummed through where it was at) and it was touching the fender closing the circuit which was causing the light to stay on even without the switch.
