After 5 years now I can look at this with out crying as much

This is when I moved from Oregon to Idaho and had to down size ..it hurt to see this all go out the drive way on them days 5 years ago ,,but I am sure others here on the forum has done the same ..

I made a big mistake trying to take care of the all of people who came these 4 days of the sale ..

I have only looked at these photos once since being here and that was to see if I sold a tool or not ..I sold it and many more... I am just now able to look at all this and say it had to be done .

The real question is... do you miss any of it?

Well, you convinced me. I'm never moving!! It's too much work. I'll let the kids sort it out when I'm gone.....

I dread the day I might have to go through something like that..... must feel like literally losing a part of yourself. Glad you are able to look back now with a bit less pain. Time can be a pretty effective healer.

I've told my wife the same thing. I don't see how people move every 3-5 years. My garage and shed alone would be an absolute pain in the ass to clean out and move.

Wife and I are starting to downsize for a possible move in a couple years. It's incredible how much crap someone can save up.

Re: After 5 years now I can look at this with out crying as much

Didn't mean to scare some of you from moving,,lol what I miss is the one tool you think you'll never need ,,and then you do.. how about the tool with the jaws on it for reaching up behind a sink to work on a new faucet install.. miss that one ,,should of kept more of the scaffolding I had ,,here you can store it out side and it seems it never rust,,

A lot of it was down the list pretty far as great shape tools ,,but they still worked and I have now a new shovel,, new rake,,new , ect ect .. doesnt work any better than the ones I had to leave behind due to both 24 foot U hauls packed full

Oh , I did leave room for my hounds tooth bucket seats for my 71 I picked up from a forum member on the way here to Idaho...Had to make room for the seats.. I miss my shop real bad and here have no room to build one , ,,the . bottom line is I would of had to go back and rent another truck for $600 or what ever it was ,, and then come back and ...??? see ! I really do not know what would of been best

I've already done that. I sold some tools on Craigslist and now wish I still had my ball joint separator. I'll be needing a carpet knee kicker soon too.

Re: After 5 years now I can look at this with out crying as much

I didn't mention about all the times since I have been here in Idaho for 5 years that I have gone looking thru boxes .tool cribs ..shelves ,,everywhere and then realize I sold it back in Oregon ,,

I even know this when looking ,,but cant be sure so I keep looking and therefore I am batting close to a 1000 that I find I sold it..

We bought our house in 1984 and will never move...I hope anyway. If we do we will let our daughter have this house and I can keep all my junk!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I will say this, Larry -- I lose track of time, it seems to fly past so quickly anymore. Does not seem possible that it's already been 5 years since you left Oregon.

Papa: We're in the same boat now as you are. Our move has only been 12 miles, but it don't matter which place we are. Whatever we need seems like it's always 12 miles away. I'm trying to buy an older pu/w a utility bed. Pile every hand tool in it, so wherever I am, I at lease have the hand tools.----If the old pu don't crater. The adjustment of routine and place has been rough on me. After being on the same place so many years, it hard to "turn your back and walk away." We don't plan to sell the "home" place, so at least I can go out, let my dog run, and drive thru the pasture and look at my neighbors cattle who has it rented. Soo, I guess we can suffer together long distance.

There cannot be any more of a rough time to down size than an instance like you are having to go through flashed.. so sorry for you losing your wife .. take your time and just know you have friends here on the forum to share words with anytime for any comfort we can give you .. 25 years 81 Trans Am ,,you should have no problem selling this car ,I would think ..

Sounds like a good plan to get that old truck and load your tools on it and have it handy .. there is nothing like a acreage place to store stuff at compared to the flat land street homes with the small back yard .. Bet your dog loves going back to the old stomping grounds too. ..

All sounds good flashed , when ever I need a break from what ever ,, I go out to my truck or car and if nothing else ,just sit in it a bit until I think of something interesting I want to do to them ..

And some times I just say to myself what Dale a fellow forum member says

Just another chapter in the book of life buddy.. That's how I look at it. The main thing is your still writing chapters.. lol.
The time flies in retirement comments made me think if the clock had moved that fast during my 40 yr working career..... I would have been dead along time ago.
I used to accuse the company I worked for somehow messin with time. They could make a 12hr shift feel like a week.
