The key to your answer is what he stated..."All reasonable offers will be considered!!!!" Make him a low offer and the worse he can do is say no. Then he will likely counter offer. Good Luck

Re: need opinions on a truck forsale

You asked for it, so here is my honest opinion. You could do better. It is a 4x4 with the smaller 4.8 engine. Obviously he used it to tow since it has the electric brakes. I would be concerned about wear and tear on it. Just for comparison, I traded a 2005 Crew Cab chevy 2 wheel drive with 5.3 engine, tow package and nice offroad tires and aftermarket wheels, and a top of the line leer hard tonneau cover with 36k and I got 17,500 for it last year. They could be easily gotten for that price now. Unless you absolutely need a 4x4 I would search for something else. you asked, so, just my opinion.

Re: need opinions on a truck forsale

Sounds high to me. I bout the 06 GMC CC 2wd with a 5.3/trailer pkg etc for 21,900 brand new so I think there is a better deal out there

Re: need opinions on a truck forsale

I would check Autotrader.com or something similar (not sure what you have available to you in CA) and see what other trucks are going for.
Or check Kelly Blue Book or NADA, but again, not sure what you have in CA.

Like was posted above, with the 4.8 and a trailer brake I would be worried about it being overworked.
This isn't a slam on CA but until the last year I used to make about 10 trips a summer to Whistler and a few more to BC Cup and Canada Cup mt. bike races. It always seemd that the vehicles, especially trucks, got worked hard. Would always see like S10 Blazers pulling tandem axle travel trailers with the back bumper about three inches off the ground.
With that in mind and the fact that the truck has a 4.8 AND a trailer brake I would be worried.
But on the flip side, my '06 1/2 ton 4.8 is rated at 30hp *EDIT MORE than my '98 3/4 ton 5.7 - 285 vs 255. So maybe it means nothing?

Re: need opinions on a truck forsale

That seems pricy for an '03. I paid 10K for my 2000 chev Z71 with the 5.3L. Mine has higher miles, but other than that comparable condition.

Re: need opinions on a truck forsale

I used to race DH a lot. Started in '95 and raced as many races as I could drive to until last year. Did one race early last year and haven't raced since. Just burnt on it I guess? Still have my "All Mountain" bike and trail ride every Sunday and try to get out during the week.
My girlfriend rides like 4 times a week but she never really got into the DH. Broke her humurous August '05 at Whistler and we haven't been back since.
Funny thing is that when we met I had like five bikes and then helped her buy one. Now I have one and she has two together and two that are almost complete.
But when we met I had one Suburban and now I have 6-7 turcks... oops! she says.
