Third brake light
I have a troubleshooting question. I bought an aftermarket led replacement for my dry rotted third brake light. Pretty simple. Just plug it in right? Well the thing stays on all the time. Works when you apply brake but the low light will stay on even after the truck is turned off. Thought there might be a delay or something but just stays on. Any ideas?

Re: Third brake light
There is another thread on this, I remember them saying cut the yellow wire. I looked for the post but can't find it.

Re: Third brake light
Thanks TexasJeff & sntrym95. I was worried that I would have to send the light back. I had already thrown away the old one. I'm new to this forum and trying to figure out how it all works. I really appreciate it.

Re: Third brake light
After cutting the yellow wire be aware the cargo light can be turned on with the ignition in the off position. The point is that the cargo light can be left on accidentally.
