Where to get color matched interior paint?

Anyone know of a place on the interweb that sells model specific color matched paint for interior plastic panels?

Since the Paddock folded, I have not been able to get spraycans of GM 1968 Fawn.
SEM doesn't carry it.

I don't know of any paint supply house that mixes vinyl dyes. My place sells SEM and that is pre-mixed only. They mix any body paint in an color and with plastic I guess just use a bonding enhancer first. I tried to match the saddle for my '72 door panels last summer and could only come close in vinyl dye.

I use my local PPG auto paint shop. They can mix up most colors, but ive always have bought the quarts of paint from them, you need to spray them yourself. I just used sem products on my new dash pad, it came out great.

Re: Where to get color matched interior paint?

Same here, I use PPG from Wesco. Now mind you it'll take about $300 in stuff (reducers, thinners, catalysts, cleaners, antistatic, prep wipes) before you'll be able to do plastics properly but they'll turn out great.

I sprayed DP90LF on the prep'd plastic and the DBC color coat and then DCU2060 "Flex'd and Flat" clear which has about the right semigloss sheen for plastics. In the picture below the console is 2060 semi-flat, whereas the steering column is full gloss.

It's been 5 years so I forget all the stuff they can sell you for plastic prep, but the best one I found was an impregnated sponge system. It just wasn't very reusable and too expensive to throw away each time you wanted to paint a piece of something.

In summary then - you can paint plastics, you don't have to dye them. Here's my console and dash as examples.

Re: Where to get color matched interior paint?

My shop is a PPG dealer and they only do paint, no vinyl dye mixing in spray cans. But Urethane paint with proper prep will do well on hard plastic, but I wouldn't want to use it on upholstery.
