Question Outer Grille Shell from GMCPaul

What's the difference between the tow 71-71 Chevy Outer Grille shells that GMCPaul sells. Obviously one if NOS and one repro, but is there that much different. I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest but $460 is a lot for just the surround. Plus I know some repro's look like junk.

Thoughts?

Mine had to be "customized" a bit.
The slots for the side bolts had to be enlarged and there was a little grinding on the bottom lower passenger side.
Once that was taken care of (about 10 times) everything was peachy.
It looks great. I'm happy with it.

I must agree with mtdave2, I have spent alot of money at GMCpauls in the last year and am very pleased with their products. Just ask them, they will tell you the differences.

For the 69/70's, the repro's don't have Chevrolet stamped into them.

Because of the cost difference, I went with the repro surround and just bought the stick on letters from ChevyDuty. Unless your right up on it, you can't even tell the difference.

I had absolutely no troubles installing my repro unit and am very happy with it. What amazes me is that someone could reproduce something like this. It's got major bends in it! I'd love to see the device that makes one.

Unless your a die hard resto fan, I'd go repro.

Ask GMC Paul, he will only tell you the truth.

He's helped a lot of board members with help.
