4L60E and PCM
I have a 1996 Chevy truck with Vortec 350 and 4L60E. I am going to part out the truck and use the engine with a carb in one of my projects. I would like to know what it would take to use the transmission in my 53 Chevy truck. I know about the controllers but can I use the 1996 computer and wiring so I wouldn't have to buy the expensive controller? Can the TPS from the 96 be adapted to work with a carb? I found threads where people put carbs on trucks with this trans, but have not found any about a trans and computer swap. Thanks.

Re: 4L60E and PCM
There used to be info on Sloppy Mechanics Wiki on how to do that with a 4L80E but I don't see it there since Google changed everything. I know it can be done but you will have to have something like HP tuners to be able to make any changes. If you but an aftermarket trans controller you don't have to have tuning software.
