Repower 1990 c7500 TopKick

Question for you all,
I have a 1990 c7500 Topkick ex firetruck, has air brakes and a 427 gas engine with less than 13000 miles. The gas engine is a gas hog and no power and I'd like to change it. I have a 1984 Topkick with a cat 3208 that runs really good with low miles and the rest of the truck is shot, my question is: can this cat engine be put into this 1990's style Topkick?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Repower 1990 c7500 TopKick

what do you want for the 427 ?

i have a super clean dump truck that needs a new engine . my 366 was cooked beyond repair before i got it . i to have air brakes so this would be a bolt in for me .

Re: Repower 1990 c7500 TopKick

I think sticking a 3208 in a 90's Topkick/Kodiak is going to be tough. The 3208 really didn't fit in the '73-'89 medium duty trucks, those so equipped had a raised cab mounting and a taller hood and you still had to lift the cab up to get the valve covers off. Not saying it can't be done, but it sure wouldn't be 'bolt in'.
