I started putting back my dana 44 front axle and there is a rubber seal than goes onto the outer axle that needs replacement. What would this piece be called and would any know where to purchase it? It didn't seem to be listed in LMC but I am not sure what its called to search for it. Would it come with the spindle seal kit? I am assuming it does.

Axle seals or hub seals?I just did a front pinion seal on my 73 K 20, I was surprised when pep boys had it in stock. I would expect a Napa to have them and the parts break down to identify the seals you need.

NAPA ng, the guy had no idea. Might try PepBoys. Every now and then I get lucky. It looks the the part I need is part of the spindle kit. It slips on the the axle and goes around the flat -round part end of the outer axles.

NAPA spindle kit is SBK-1

Spicer Spindal Bearing kit comes with that seal and a trust washer(hard plastic) plus bearing = 706527X
I have not try to buy that for many years but that was the number I have in my notes...

Thanks guys, my kit is on its way. Once I have that seal I can finish up the rebuild and get it under the truck.
