2001 Silverado: Hitch/trailer coupler back-up camera?

I have a 2001 Silverado 1500 (Vortex 5.3-litter motor) that has a rearview mirror with temperature and compass displays. I would like to buy and install a hitch/coupler back-up camera I can use only when backing up to a trailer, but one that can be integrated onto the factory rearview mirror (not one that is mounted on the dash). I have noticed that a few are advertised at eBay and other places, but I prefer to get the input from forum members instead.

And please accept my thanks for anything you can chime about this subject. Much appreciated.

I can't help u with that but crutchfield sells a backup camera that you use your smartphone as the screen. It's an app on your phone.

Re: 2001 Silverado: Hitch/trailer coupler back-up camera?

I decided to buy the Eyeball, which is wireless. The camera has a strong magnet at the base, so one can attach it to the tailgate looking down at the hitch ball plus a few feet back toward the trailer, and the small screen is plugged in the cigaret lighter. When done just put it away.

The only reason I need it for is when backing up to hitch the trailer.
