Hi guys, I posted pics of it on here a couple of years ago. It was nothing special so to speak. 01 GMC 2500HD CCSB. 6.0L SLT loaded to the gills. 6" lift, some black Hoss XD wheels on 35's.

I spend most of my time on this board over in the 72 section or the 55-59 section. Those are the two I usually am working on. This is just my driver/trailer hauler.

Paid it off in March, Just turned 100k on it in Nov. and a tree fell on it in December. At my house, while I was sleeping!

Son of a gun! Sure hate to see that. Homeowners or full coverage insurance on it? I know how you feel.

Nope, I wasn't inside. It happened about 5am. Something woke the wife up. She woke me and said she thought it was an earthquake. I shrugged it off. This is oregon we rarely have any earthquakes. I told her it was probably snow sliding off our roof. I woke up in the morning, looked outside and saw that.

Yeah it still had full coverage on it. But I had to hire an outside appraiser at my cost to get them to come to something reasonable for an offer on it. They offered me 9800 for it. I was like... umm I dunno what your smoken but send me some. All said and done I got 15000 + lic -1000 deductible.

Wow!!! I too am sorry that this had happened to ya. Why does always seem that when you put money into something for some strange reason an event will take place to make you wonder why did this happen to me. In 09' I had paid off my truck in June, wasn't going to put any money into it. Thought about it real hard, then in October before hunting season, put tires on it, matching topper, did some engine work, stereo upgrades then in December on our way back to Nebraska to surpirse the family for Christmas I hit a deer in Kansas. $5k damage to the front clip and down the whole left side of the truck. Fender, Door, Ext Door, and bed side. She was doing about 40 mph and I was doing about 70 mph at 7:30 pm on a 2 lane Rd. Quite the physics experiment on two moving objects and what happens at the point of impact. Hopefully you will be able to salvage something out of the truck. Good Luck and glad no one was hurt.

that sucks good call on getting it appraised not many people know there rights when something like this happens and the insurance companies are a bunch of scam artist. any plans on replacement yet

kinda wonder how much a used cab would run its a shame to have all the stuff done to it like you do and the cab looks like the only thing wrong

I thought the same thing. If I had more time I would have bought it back just to put a 72 cab on the frame. I always wanted to make a crew cab short bed 72. This would have been the perfect donor!

An insurance story with a happy ending! Good for you. So when they total it, do you get to keep your wheels/tires, stereo, or anything else you put in/on the truck? Or do they get the whole thing?

Just sat. I flew to Oakland,CA and picked up my 2005 LLY D-max with 8" fabtech, amp research steps, 37's w/56k miles. 21.2 MPG on the way home at 75+ MPH!

I kept 'em. Had to pay a guy $75 to get the wheel locks off. In all the madness I couldn't find the wheel lock key. It was always in the glove box cubby but I couldn't find it.

Now I'll be putting them on the new truck (new to me anyway)

man I would fixed it...Seen trucks in about same shape fixed with the use of a donor cab roof and pillars. Even seen one where they straightened the cab structure and just put a new roof skin on it.
