Tahoe Conversation

Can anyone tell me what is meant by the phrase of "Tahoe Conversation"?

I know it's taking a 'burb and then doing something with it.

But what I am just curious about.

Thanks.

Re: Tahoe Conversation

Shorter wheelbase. Think of it like the difference between a newer suburban and tahoe. The tahoe is shorter, generally with the rear wheel tucked into the rear doors.

Re: Tahoe Conversation

There's a couple members who have done this.
It's basicly making a burb into a short wheel base.

The thread starter's misquoted phrase wasn't clever, had that been the actual phrase, not the concept of changing a wheelbase. The phrase makes much more sense as a "conversion".

Re: Tahoe Conversation

i think the $9500 is for a roller that is converted if you have nothing to start with, but i may be wrong.

Re: Tahoe Conversation

Looks like it is missing a couple of doors. I might be wrong, but Tahoes usually have more than two doors?

Technically there were some 90's 2dr Tahoes, but always thought of them as full size Blazers.

Re: Tahoe Conversation

The Oregon guy for 9500 are cool, but to me they are just shortened burbs. The original person that started the true "Tahoe" conversion is Frizzle Fry. Any thing after that is just a copy...LOL.

I wonder how much of roller and how well painted.

If it is all painted and looks this nice for $9500 I think that is a good deal.

Re: Tahoe Conversation

You know I have seen Frizzle Fry's conversion and it looks nice...

But I just can't get into the shortened look of the Burb. I think the original length looks pretty cool...

JMHO...

Re: Tahoe Conversation

x2, and Frizzle Fry's and Rockln's are both really nicely done tahoe conversions but do nothing for me .... and that orange one doesnt look right either, to short to be a tahoe. more like a blazer with a permanent hard top

And that is why Chevy now builds both options Personally I think everyone from here on out should leave them stock! Right F Fry??

Re: Tahoe Conversation

Yeah, they should be left alone But seriously, Kevin is on the money about the current offerings (long and short). There are clearly markets for both. Did you guys know that the 300ZX was even offered in a long and short wheelbase (a friend was researching them)? The long was called a 2+2 (looks better shorter ...IMHO). Variety is the spice... and that's what's great about this hobby and this board.
