56 chev with full length headers

got an answer on another site just want a second opinon, i have a 56 chev stepside,i am putting in a heidts mustangII crossmember and SBC(400+HP).Has anyone used full length headers? if so what were they originally for? will use shortie headers but don`t think they would flow enough to make 400+HP?

I have a set of headers that were on a 56 Chevy truck that I am going to sell. I can supply a picture tomorrow if interested.

did it a front crossmember swap or stock suspension?what were the headers for originally?
