Talking calling ALL 55 to 59 Chevy Owners

Hell everyone,

I'm new on this particular forum but I've been a Task Force owner since I was about 9 years old. Now comes the time I'm able to incorporate the truck into something for school. This is where all of you come in. I'm currently working on my degree project (same stature as a thesis) and it is a history of 55- 59 Chevy trucks. Great project right? Unfortunately, I need to use original imagery. Not things I've taken from books or magazines. It needs to be something someone took, preferrably me. I'm reaching out to other owners in the NY, NJ, PA and surrounding areas for help. If you would meet with me for an afternoon and allow me to shoot some photos of your truck I would really appreciate it. I really don't have anything to offer you for your kindness, however, any photos I shoot will be returned to you on CD along with giving you proper credit in the book. The vehicle condition is of no importance to me. I need to see all ranges of trucks. I am willing to drive and meet you wherever you need me to. If it's exceedingly far, if you could cover some of the distance it would be a huge help, but it is not expected, just encouraged. Lastly, if you would like to help, but cannot make the drive or the truck doesn't move, but you have old photos of it. If they are good quality (high res. digital or clear prints) anything you could send to me would also help greatly. Anyone interested please PM and I will respond quickly. Thank you all for your time and once I begin working on my 58, I'll be around much more frequently. Thanks again-

JF

Too bad you are not in California, I have 3 55-59 Chevy trucks. A 58 short step, a 57 Chevy NApco and a 56 Chevy extended cab.

Frenchie477, First let me say welcome to the board!

Second is, I have a project that I have been collecting parts for, for years and hope to get started on it soon.
I linked some pics below.
Plans for this is to build an all wheel drive custom with all the comforts and toys.
If your interested in these I have much higher quality pics I could email you.

Also in the "show us your stuff" sticky in this forum has some very nice members trucks.
I'm sure permission from the members could be had in the interest of furthering your education

Best regards,

Denny

You can use this photo to demonstrate how water would get trapped on the inside of the headlight areas, causing rust and apparently over lots of time, complete rot-thru.........

If you get an original frame you can use a front 4x4 axle from a 60's truck to make it a 4x4, easiest way to do it. You can use a married transfer case from a later model truck.

The frame may be a little bit bigger, I am not sure but it see no reason why it will not work.

hey everybody, thanks for the feedback- i was expecting an e-mail me notify me of them- but, well, it just didn't come. So, I'm here now- everyone thank you for your interest. Any pics you would like to contribute- send me please; I'm getting more and more stressed about this as I'm falling more and more behind. They can alll be sent to bfrog999@aol.com or jeremiah@jefrench.com-

EXTD56- if you could send me various picsof all of these trucks it would help me greatly; even better would be if you could send me a CD with them on there- if you PM me I'll give you my address. Since, I know many pics, especially good ones won't send all at once through e-mail. This would be awesome.

DennyB- funny thing, your truck looks kinda like mine right now, covered in crap and being used for storage. The same goes for you with pics. Anything from a website i won't be able to use, because it's going to be in print. The resolution is too low for it print correctly.

This basically goes for everyone- anything would be great. Thanks so much, and lets hear about those projects- i'm basically sitting on a 58' 3100. Originally, straight 6, 3spd on the column and 4x4- sometime in the 70's became, 2 wheels drive, got a 350, buckets, 4 on the floor, headers and 31" glass packs--- sickeningly loud (I remeber being scared when i was 3)- now, it sits in my garage after being looted and left in the woods for about 3 years. People just kept looting and looting- and the metal kept rusting and rusting-- so frame up is needed. well, thanks in advance to everyone whos going to help, I'll post this same in other threads and see what I get- thanks again-

Jeremiah
