THIS CAR HAS BEEN SHOWN MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS AND COMES WITH AN ELABORATE WOOD DISPLAY CASE TO SHOWCASE THE CAR

^When I first read that, I thought to myself, "Gee, thats a big stinkin wood showcase if the whole Chevelle fits inside."

It's been so long maybe I've forgotten but didn't the factory cowl induction hoods come WITH the functional "flapper"? The only ones I've seen without it were aftermarket hoods. Oh it's a beautiful car alright and has been kept inside all these years. It's a downright shame not to driiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive a great car like that. I think there are too many collector/investors out there (just look at the price) and not enough drivers.

You could get the hood either way. Here is a pic of the one I used from a 70 SS El Camino to make the cowl hood on my 91 GMC...

That, and did anyone else find it funny that it didn't have a factory tach? It just surpises me that the kind daddy of em all (LS6) wouldn't have these two features.

Quote from the auction "THIS CHEVELLE IS A TOTAL SLEEPER CAR AND WAS ORIGINALLY ORDERED TO DOMINATE THE STREETS. IT IS ORDERED WITHOUT STRIPES, WITHOUT COWL INDUCTION AND WITHOUT GAUGES." .........hence "sleeper"

you would be surprised to find out that a lot of the ls 6 cars didn't have a tach. Most of the ls 6 I have seen over the years have just a idiot light gauge dash, AM radio, bench seat, and some have just the cowl hood instead of the cowl induction. You have got to see that most ls 6 were built for drag race use. Though there are a lot of ls6's that were bought for the road. You will find a lot of the sleeper cars that were bought for performance and there was no need for all the extra options. 454 pushing 450 horsepower through a muncie, 4 10 gears ........ Ultimately Best Muscle Car.... sorry my opinion I think 72Super would agree Trevor

Gauges were an option, as well as the cowl induction hood, and the hood and trunk stripes. You could even get it with a column shifter.

i would think their friends or family are bidding on it for them because think about if you had 117k to bid on a car like this you must REALLY want it and with 7 bids you would think if it was a legitimate buyer they would just spend the extra 10k and hit the buy it now so they would'nt take the chance of losing it
