Which is best way to go? Have a 69 Delco M drum unit to replace standard
brake master cyl. If I go with rebuild kit then how hard is it to get disassembled? And who has parts? If I exchange then where is best place to purchase. Already have new Delco master cyl. Also made new lines for same.

I had an original done at BrakeBoosters.com after the reproduction/replacement unit was unusable. In this case he even supplied the core because I didn't have a good one.

He took care of getting the case polished (lots of work, don't plate without doing it, no point) and replating and rebuilding and what you see here is what came out of the box.

Ignore the MC lid, that's my horrible fake plating job, not related to them.

Is the truck a daily driver or a show truck? for a daily driver I'd go to Auto Zone or Advance. they're in stock to fit the 72.

better to leave the rebuilding of the boosters to people that do them, these are under spring pressure, and if you don't have the correct tooling to hold/capture these, the parts will be launching at you at a pretty good velocity, I wouldn't want one coming apart at me, be safe, don't try it at home.

Years ago I opened one up to see what's inside. Luckily the half that wasn't in the vice flew across the shop and three stalls over put a pretty wicked dent in the side of my 1969 RS/SS 396 Camaro, I think about a thousand dollars damage.

Why do I say luckily? Because if that think would have hit me in the chest, I think it would have killed me.

Do not play with them.

That was what I did the first time and it failed. The booster might be fine, but the studs were too short to mount the master cylinder and the combination valve bracket. This might be a 3/4 ton thing only.

If it interchanges and fits, I don't see a reason not to go parts-store. But when I did it didn't fit.
