Re: 700r4 to L86?

It can be made to bolt up with a crank spacer & Redrilling the flexplate.

The problem will be hooking up the TV Cable on a Drive By Wire engine, I did this once with a LQ9, I hooked the TV Cable to the Throttle pedal...
1. It was VERY time consuming.
2. It made the pedal very stiff.
3. The existing 700R4 that the customer insisted on using lost the 3-4 clutches shortly after, Ended up with an "E" transmission after all!

I think you would be better off selling your 700R4 and using an electronic trans that the engine was backed with originally.

Re: 700r4 to L86?

You would be far ahead if you get the transmission that goes with the engine. Up front costs might be higher but after your 6.2 breaks the 700r4 plus the expense of attempting to adapt it you will be cheaper to just use the 8l90 that should be behind it or you could find an earlier 6l80. Either way you need programming done to make it work but attempting to use a 30 year old unit on a modern higher horsepower engine will be costly.

I lucked out and the place I got the motor from had a pull out 6l90 for sale. I snatched it up. has 5 miles on it. my motor has 10 miles on it. good scores for me.
