Re: 58 Headlights

they look correct now to me. there are 2 adjuster parts spaced at the 1/3 marks around the ring, roughly, and the spring goes across from them at the remaining 1/3 mark.
maybe this will help? it's corvette but same approx vintage. is this what you were asking? the springs on the moveable headlight bucket part?

Yes the spring,I went to town and bought some headlights. The assembly I have in the picture is not right the movable parts are wrong,I guess there are lefts and rights I put headlight in and it was vertical, and notches don't line up.Could I have some wrong parts?

Re: 58 Headlights

I don't totally remember how they fit but it seems to me that there was an inner and outer moveable "bucket" part that the sealed beam fit into and they had to go in the right way, ie: right inner and outer may not be the same and left inner compared to right inner may not be the same. then there were 2 nylon adjuster parts that fit into slots ineach sealed beam holder and the sealed beam part was held in with the chrome ring that had a spring, in a slot in the chrome part bottom area, and then 2 screws opposite to that and sorta right next to the adjuster screws. maybe you have the actual seal beam buckets in the wrong place? the rings are sorta specific to the buckets too I think. maybe try installing a sealed beam into a bucket and matching the chrome ring to that then see where it fits into the larger back piece? post some better pics showing all the parts individually?
sorry man, memory is a cruel thing.....

Re: 58 Headlights

found this pic on ebay of an original set, rusty and everything, but assembled. run the mouse over the pic for a close up. the spring goes into the chrome retainer ring around the sealed beam. haha, memory aint so bad after all. lol.
better hurry before somebody buys it and the ad goes away.

Re: 58 Headlights

Who would have ever thought,it never crossed my mind that the spring went on retainer ring, that explains why I received in pieces.
Thank you so much dsraven
The only issue I have left is to return the headlights and get the right ones
