Thanks a ton for taking additional pictures of the cab lifting apparatus, you have no idea how much that helps me. When I ask buddies if they can help me out, they're suddenly busy, can't even entice them with beer haha.

No problem. I am the same way, happy to help any way I can.

Re: My build thread- 67 C10 SWB

Well, looks like the 94 Buick Roadmaster driveshaft is a perfect fit! $80 on Ebay (free shipping). I did some research on wheelbase and found that the Roadmaster is 115.9", and our SWB is 115", so I figured the Roadmaster was powered by an LT1 and 4L60E (electronic 700r4). I may have an issue with the rear u-joint, but will take another look at it tomorrow night.

Re: My build thread- 67 C10 SWB

I believe this is probably the U-joint I need for the rear, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone with experience can chime in?

I wish I was a little closer to MD, I think I could learn several things from your build. You have defanately put a lot of forethought into this before you started. P.S. When you get board with yours you could come to IL. and start on mine.

Thank you! Update on the drive shaft..... story of my life.... too short (approx. 3/4") looks like I have to have a new tube cut, along with needing a combination u-joint for the rear. Well, I guess it was worth the gamble and it gives me a visual aid for mocking up the x-pipe.

Thank you. I got it from Classic Performance Products (6372AGT-20BF is the part #), but shop around, you may be able to find it cheaper.

Re: My build thread- 67 C10 SWB

Update: had a new 1 piece driveshaft made today. Took a slip yoke and dimensions to Accubuilt here in Salisbury, MD at 9:00am this morning, and around 12:30pm I got the call that they had finished. $260 for maintenance free ujoints and spicer weld yokes. I recommend using this worksheet when measuring for a 1 piece driveshaft: http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/app/...iagrams/b.html

Also managed to get the electric fuel pump mounted last week, just didn't get a pic posted.

Work on the Transmission crossmember has begun. Trying to make more clearance for the Pypes X-pipe.

I would love to build another after this. Dad wants the next one to be a Chevelle but I wouldn't mind another mid 80's Monte.

Work in progress.... Still more grinding to do. Just noticed this crossmember (pre-modified) on sale at Performance Online $65.99.

Re: My build thread- 67 C10 SWB

Finished modifying the transmission X-member. Still working on the exhaust, using wooden blocks to hold up the pipes to get a general idea. The plan to use Pypes Street Pro mufflers has been scrapped due to the length of the case (14"), so I have ordered a pair of Spintech Pro Street 6334 mufflers (12" case). The 14" case was going to be a very tight fit between the trailing arms and the frame. The Spintech mufflers should be here around Wednesday.

Thank you, thank you very much

I hope this exhaust sounds as good as it is a pain in the A**. I need to get back to work on the dash, but for some reason I keep on procrastinating on it. The dash is probably the make or break on this project. Either it ends up looking great, or it looks like crap and that's all that people notice. Due to the exhaust routing and the Transmission crossmember, the original E-brake cable system idea has been scrapped. Scouring Ebay, I came across a very good looking 2004 Subaru Forrester E-brake handle and picked it up for $27 (free shipping). Its much cheaper than $130 for the Lokar handle. I guess its official, I'm building a rat rod (as if it wasn't already shaping up that way).

X-pipe progress. Mufflers are supposed to be here Wednesday, provided "global warming" doesn't cause them to get stuck in transit....

If you didnt already know it, a sure fire way to prevent leaks on the band clamps is to wrap the pipe joint with a doubled over piece of aluminum foil before putting the band clamp on it.

Build is looking good man, hopefull the 'global warming' doesnt turn delmarva into an iceberg... haha

I still need to get up your way and check this thing out.

Cheers!

I did not know, thanks for the tip! I probably won't keep the clamps there, have decided to weld all pipes except for the mufflers, which will be clamped. Yeah, its starting to feel like a iceberg out there, the cold "winter vortex" (because the media won't admit they are participating in the hoax) is bringing the chill for sure. Would be cool to meet up with other C10 peeps, its fun to chat about these awesome trucks.
