Can anyone explain to me what this is for?

I was at a car show today and want sure what this oil line coming from the head to the oil pressure outlet side of the block is for?
This is a 235. What is this for and should I do this to mine?

What does the other end of the tube connect to? Might be part of an aftermarket oil filter setup?

It's probably an oil line to lubricate the rocker arms. On the older engines they used a setup like that. I'm assuming the engine was in a 53 or 54?
