55-59 stock steering column

Hey guys I’ve been looking for a stock steering column, cuz mine was cut off right at the base. I have a 56 Chevy truck. And the column I found is out of a 58-59 gmc. Will that column work in mine? Thank you

Re: 55-59 stock steering column

It will bolt up but the column is shorter as the 57-59 Chevy GMC trucks use a dish steering wheel while the 55 56 have a flat steering wheel and a longer column.

Re: 55-59 stock steering column

yes, the shaft only. you still need the housing that covers the shaft.
i'll go out on a limb and say that was cut too

Are you still looking for a Stock Column? Mine is out of a 59 Chevy. I have replaced mine and don't need the stock set up any more.
