Panel truck patch panels

Does anyone know if anyone makes patch panels that are specific to panel trucks or suburbans, like for the bottoms of the rear barn doors or the lower rear quarter panels? I haven't been able to find any on the interwebs.
Thanks

Re: Panel truck patch panels

I have a 64 panel in the works with some rear quarter damage on both sides and to my knowledge no one makes patches for them.I am having to cut out the damage (crushed ) straighten & weld back in place .Same on rear doors. Hope this helps! Good luck.

Re: Panel truck patch panels

Thanks for the reply chevyman, I kind of had a feeling that no one makes replacement panels specific to these trucks (some day maybe...). Unfortunately the damage I have is all rust related, nothing to reshape there . This might be a job for some metal fabrication and a tub of bondo when the time comes to do cosmetic work. Good luck on your 64 panel, these truly are very cool trucks.

Re: Panel truck patch panels

Yeah, no one really makes specific items for panels/suburbans. Some repair panels for trucks will work but things like the rear doors, tail light areas, etc. are not made. If yours are beyond repair, you'll likely need to find some used replacements in better shape.

I would suggest you become a supporting member and then you can post a Want to Buy ad and see if fellow owners have some spares pieces you could buy.

Good luck.
