Door/top window seal
So before I start parking my jimmy outside, I need to replace the door/top window seal. Ordered some are they are glue on. Yet my double top uses the t style push in's.
Are we to make our own holes? Or does someone make a set with the holes already in them? I did some quick searching and found another post about this, but no answer was provided.

I recently put new rubbers on mine. My first experiance at this. There was none. Just glue residue. I didn't use glue. Just press in. They seem fine. Got them from LMC. Made in Thiland. Quality and fit is poor. There must be a better place to get them.

I replaced mine last year with the t-clip style. It's amazing how much it leaks, more so when it's parked than it does going down the road. So now mine stays in the garage and will be getting a soft top in the future. I've heard they leaked from the factory. Just trying to provide some expectation management!

The 'tees' are there for alignment, sorta takes the pressure off the glue until it sets up. Ive used 3 M with great success, but there is a method to using weatherstrip sealant. Not using it will set you up for failure

I got mine from lmc as well. Harley, where did you get your T style?

yep, no holes.

Mine has 7 clips/side. It's a double wall and I'm not sure if the single walls are different. I think I got my seals from GMC Pauls. I generally try to get parts from the supporting vendors. I didn't use any adhesive on my seals and maybe that's the problem with mine?

Bringing this back to the top. Is the rear hatch seal the same design? Its leaking as bad, or worse then the doors.

update for anyone who may search on this later. GMCPauls is one of the dealers who sells the window seals with the holes for the "t" hold downs. However, they said they do not have a source for the the "t"s. I see lmc sells these. I'm hoping I can get my stocks out w/o snapping any.
:edit: correction on this. GMCPauls SAYS they have holes. Got them in today, it is precision gaskets, and they do NOT have holes in them. Last edited by Dale99; 01-19-2013 at 07:02 PM. |

The single wall tops have a rail that the weather strip goes into and the double uses the push in t's.
