71 C10 front and rear brake hoses

Hate to beat a dead horse but I have read nearly all the posts about replacement front caliper hoses. Most all state that the hoses are shorter than originals and leave the hoses too tight. What hoses actually work? Any part numbers for LH, RH, and rear appreciated.

I would also be interested in this, after seeing the recent threads on it. I suppose if I need hoses before this question gets answered, I'll be taking the old hoses with me to the parts store and comparing the lengths right there at the counter.

Re: 71 C10 front and rear brake hoses

I just looked through my invoices and in 2016 I bought Raybestos Front Brake Hoses # BH380713 and 0712 from Rock Auto for my 72 C10 just looked and show available and installed them on the truck then and have had no issues. As a footnote I recently put a 2 1/2 dropped spindle on the truck and no issues either. I also bought a new rear hose then and was a Wagner Part # 79338 but shows non available on RockAuto.

Re: 71 C10 front and rear brake hoses

i went through all this brake hose craziness a year or so ago while looking for hoses for my 72 C-20.Rock Auto had them listed but too short.i tryed locally at Carquest and Napa.they brought in hoses that were the same chinese junk that Rock Auto had.i found a guy at Brake Hoses Unlimited in Michigan.i have his card in the shop if you want his number or look it up if you like.i called and as soon as i opened my mouth,he said all the hoses are too short(not his first day on the job) i said correct,he said i have the correct hoses here,i think they were $40.00 or $50.00,for the fronts.i had found a rear hose. he mailed them to me.perfect, fit well and worked great.

Re: 71 C10 front and rear brake hoses

Oh man, back in July I bought a pair of AC Delco front hoses for my 69 from Amazon. According to my notes from the early 90s, those are what I used when I converted to 85 front discs. I also got a rear hose from NAPA. Hope the fronts fit, because my 90 day return window has long passed!

On a related note, I went through at least three different vendors trying to find a power steering hard line for my 69. All three were almost identical, and were shaped slightly different than a 71-72 OE hose. Anyway, after some careful bending of a hose and inner fender, I got one to sort of fit. I frankly think the hoses were all the same, except for the boxes.
