Re: What's the rarest emblem?

I don't have any NOS emblems but the Canadian 67 GMC CUSTOM emblems have to be rare as I believe the Oshawa Plant was the only one to install them.

Re: What's the rarest emblem?

I'd have to say the "Sierra" emblem. For some reason it seems soo many true Sierra's have lost their emblems unlike that of the Sierra Grande's. perhaps it's because there were more Sierra's that were used as work trucks? IDK

I doubt that. The Sierra was the equivalent to Cheyenne. Plus, I dee plenty trucks with the emblem. Mine is one.

I have a pair of GMC 3500 Custom Camper fender emblems and have never seen others

I've never figured out what my Custom Camper came on. Might be same as 69-71 Chevy RPO Z81, but I've never seen a GMC with that emblem, no 1500-3500 at all.

That's right, '68 and '69 only. V-6 was dropped from the 1500-3500 for 1970. Somewhere I have a '73-'74 6000 Series V-6 hood emblem.

YOU doubt that, I totally SUPPORT it. I've had two Sierra' Grande's dating back to 1983, thus I have an "eye" for those emblems in person and online. In fact, I would roughly say I see 1 "Sierra" for every 5 "Sierra Grande" - and that's being conservative.

Re: What's the rarest emblem?

That's fine, think what you want. Sierras were no more used for work than Cheyennes. It's just a fact. Why do you always feel you have to challenge my posts? I can't help but notice that with you. Very abrasive with me. You aren't the only one with a history with these trucks nor the only one with a sharp eye for them. Just because you've notice more bedside Sierra Grande emblems than Sierra does not mean they were used for work trucks. They are hard to remove, most have been repainted, and many emblems were either broken or not reinstalled is another possibility. Mine were screwed back on along with all the side trim

EDIT: Just to be clear. What I doubt is that the reason you see fewer Sierra emblems is because so many were used as work trucks

Did not think these were special.

Truck has very few options.

Re: What's the rarest emblem?

Yeah, those are pretty rare. In '67 GMC had a script "Custom" fender emblem that was very similar to the '72 script "Custom" in Custom Camper on the door. But the C is bigger compared to the rest of the word and the whole word is bigger than the '72 door script. I have only had one and I gave it to Too Much Stuff. I think that is the rarest emblem

Re: What's the rarest emblem?

I'm trying to figure out what emblem would look right for 396 on 67 conversion. On fender where turn signal lights are on later trucks.

Re: What's the rarest emblem?

In 69/70 they were under the fender emblem. That's a hard one since your fender emblem is tall and shorter than the engine badge. I think the only place those would look good on a '67 would be the side of a cowl induction hood. It it was me, since you're stepping away from original, I'd get the car cross flags 396 emblems and put them on the front of the fender about where they were on cars. A bit lower than where a marker light would be. Those are more stylish and I think are better than a truck engine badge that doesn't belong. If you don't like those, I thing the 396 stand alone car emblems would be nicer as well. Those might work out good under the GMC emblem as well. The car one is obviously not original and the truck one could be seen as a mistake. That's just my opinion

Re: What's the rarest emblem?

Agree ...was thinking that type used on Chevelle, Camaro, Nova, Impala. I picked up some 427 emblem guy sold as NOS that did not go to production, another thing in a box to sit for 20yr.

GMC being odd ball was thinking might be an obscure emblem that might look factory.

I do like the cowl hoods, mine has surface rust, but no rot.
