Oh. . . I like!!!! So Andy, how long did it take to swap out 2 front ends? I'm sure you had to start with the GMC first, being the only thing you have to drive. . . . .

Hey, I like the look of the GMC grill, but I like 69-70 Chevy better. My truck has more colors than yours but is not patriotic. Blue, ochre, orange, gold, green, red and primer.

I haven't messed with the engine swap much, and the fan issue has been put aside untill after the flim flam was done. I couldn't see installing the harness only to have to pull it all apart to replace the sheet metal. Plus, without the pipes and fenderwells, it'll be easier to do the tranny cooler lines, but I needed the good rad in there to bend them properly.
As for how long it took...I was shocked it took so friken long. Try 3 1/2 hrs..and the one ton isn't bolted on..just sitting there. Even though both these trucks are fairly clean (considering I am in Ohio) they both had the 'ole rusted fastners and all that kind of crap. Had do flush out my peepers after getting a ton of rust in them too. (that sucks)
I did the swap becouse the Longhorn is the keeper, and I hate the 69/70 chevy grill. I think the only one uglier is the 71/72 one...but that is my opinion. The 76 - 70 GMC grills rock, then the 67/68 chevy, then the 71/72....the others I just don't care for. But they are still better than another generation of truck.
Canada20, I agree on the turbines, i think they make that truck 10 times better. Bummer some low life inbred POS stole one of them huh? Imagine trying to replace one 6 lug 10 inch wide turbine that was discontinued in the early 80's. (read...imposable)

LOL @ painting the longhorn red...black is the dream, but by the end of the summer I plan on primer gray. I am REALLY thinking of red spray bomb on the GMC...and spray bomb flames too. Hmmm If only I could draw for 1/2 a crap.
But wait, the GMC is worth LESS THAN 1/2 A CRAP! Hmmm, a canvis for practicing! <insert evil grin and Dr Evil's laugh>
