spaghetti and ribs (famous Fire Hall recipe)

I know it doesnt sound good but try it
get some country style pork ribs, bone in is best (2 ribs per person)
tomato soup (1 can per person)
1/4 cup brown sugar per can
1/4 cup vinegar per can
lots of chili powder about 1-1/2 tablespoons per can, some poeple like more some less
1/2 onion per person quartered
in a large sauce pan or kettle par boil (simmer do not bring to a full boil) the ribs for 15 minutes.
while the ribs are par boiling make the sauce in an oven safe roaster tomato soup, brown sugar, vinegar, chili powder and onion.
remove the ribs from the water and place in the sauce, bake covered in the oven at 300 for 2 hours.
serve on top of spaghetti, with garlic toast
option to top with cheddar cheese

Sounds good to me.The best recipes come from outta left field sometimes. So,who do we hang this recipe on,the Italians or country folk?I guess it would be the rural Italian firemen.Wait...Maco Polo originally brought spaghetti back to Italy from China. So it could be a Chinese-Italian American rural fireman dish.

actually the firefighter that brought it to the fire hall is Polish. heck of a cook too, hell all around great guy, if you needed something he would be there for you, retired about 5 years ago. We used to call him the tool man if you needed it he most likely has it.

Well that explains it.Leave it to a Pol to create a mix of cultures in a pot. They`re on the China side of Europe and just up the hill from Italy.
I need to try this dish.

Re: spaghetti and ribs (famous Fire Hall recipe)

When we make it at the fire hall after lunch we would pray that we dont have a fire call(everybodies belly is so full it hurts to work hard). You cant just eat a little bit of this most people go back for more.
