Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Sad to see you sell.
I've become used to it though. This forum produces some fantastic works of art. It is impossible to imagine that they will stay with the builder or owner forever. The quality that people put into their builds is something to marvel at. Being that it is being passed to another kinda sucks but that's how the hobby goes and how the hobby continues.
Excellent truck.

Well Mudman, I have quite a few ideas running thru my head right now. Here's a few, I don't know if any of these pictures belong to members on here, but if they do that means I like them

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

I like the patina look, I like the two tone trucks very well, and I like the stock look lowered about 4/6" or 5/7".

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

I have a very broad range of taste in these trucks which makes it hard to pinpoint a certain style. I'm not crazy about the one with the 4 headlights and the stacks, it just happened to be in the picture........

I know my opinion doesn't really matter, but this one is awesome!!!

Of course it's pretty close to where my truck is heading

Well easy to like them all, but 1 will just stand out a bit more, you know it will, lots to consider though for a long term, will it be your one that fits in for years, is it totally streetable, you know all that stuff.

The next one probably won't have 500-550 HP big block like the black one did, but I'm going for one I can drive and not worry about a rock chip, maybe a little rain if I'd get caught out in it, and so on...... It will definitely be streetable, and something I can drive as I upgrade things like big brakes and all the "good" stuff. I don't want sound lazy but with me working out of town 2 weeks at a time it's hard to build one completely, ask me how I know I'd really like to find a good solid truck with a Ls swap already done, I've saw quite a few for sale when I wasn't without a truck, you know how that goes. I'll stay patient and something will turn up.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

If I was choosing it would be in the exact order of the first 3 you posted up! The Light Green Patina is definitely first followed by the red/white two tone with billets and then the red/white one with rallys. You'll find something really nice, check with Boris at Street Machinery, he always seems to have really nice quality patina rides.

Keith, I tried to look on the Street Machinery web site and I couldn't get any vehicles to come up.

He posts a lot on Facebook and some on Instagram! He even has a buy, sell, trade page on Facebook. I think it's called Street Machinery's Swap meet!

Well I think your smart to be patient, your last truck seemed so nice, was a headache at times but was a lot of you in it so plan out the next, take your time and something will work out. We will be patiently waiting also.

Anyway I took the old black C/10 down and I did put a for sale sign on it friday. Alot of tire kickers but no interest that day, I told her I was going to drive back to the show for a couple hours on Saturday, well then it happened, SOLD. When the fellow told me he would take the truck, it was probably the hardest to let go vehicle I've ever had, even though I've had ups and downs with the build it was tough to see it go. But now I'm back looking for something else and by no means I don't want this to be a WTB thread but Im leaning towards an Ls swapped 67-72 , once you get the fever there's no cure......
Wow!! Congrats on selling your truck Jason! You did a awesome job on it, I sure hope he was driving away smiling ear to ear.

I'm definitely not going to be in a hurry, the Goodguys show at Columbus is in July so I'll go and see if there are any trucks for sale at it.

Thanks Scott, he was very pleased with it. We have been in contact with each other, he's had some questions about certain things and he's keeping me updated on some stuff he's changing.

Good idea, usually a few for sale at a show and can compare and even if you don't still gives you ideas and a better overall plan of what you want.

Well after going to shows and swap meets, wasted trips traveling here and there to check out trucks I pulled the trigger on this one this weekend.
