Fuel sending unit
66 C10 and I would like to go back to the original fuel gauge because the other one has gone wonky. I have a tank between the frame rails from a Jeep CJ IIRC. Is there a universal tank sending unit I can use? What ohms am I looking for? 0 to 90? Thanks.

The original fuel gauge is designed for a 0-30 ohms sender. Yes you can get an aftermarket adjustable sending unit in 0-30 ohms. One I have used recently was from Classic Instruments.

https://shop.classicinstruments.com/fuel-sending-units I'll have to get me one of them when the wife settles down about all the money I've been spending on car stuff. They show SN36 0-30 OHM for 64 and earlier and SN38 0-90 ohm for 66 and later. Does this seem correct or were the cars maybe different from the P/U's? |

Trucks are different than cars. The trucks used a 0-30 ohms sender/gauge thru '66.

Tanks inc has them too. I used one and its not perfect. I run outta gas at an eighth of a tank and i go a long ways on "Full". It's not easy to get it set up since you can't see inside the tank when you do it. I forget what ohm range i needed, but I called first and they told me what to buy.
