L98 aluminum heads
Got a good deal on a set of these # 10088113. Did lots of reading and I now realize they need porting to be high performance but some guys are saying pretty good torque as is. I want to throw them on a stock 350 in my work truck. Just to run to the dump and haul dirt. Anyone see that being a problem. I know it might be a waste but I got the cheap. I was going to put them on a 400 HP 350 I am building but don't want to mess with them if they need all that work to use. Any thoughts? Thanks guys

Re: L98 aluminum heads
Those are 25 year old tech but GM used them on the ZZZ, ZZ1, ZZ2 ZZ3 and ZZ4 crate engines producing 345hp. So long as you are not expecting big power numbers, I would go ahead and use them. Just be aware that they do have angled spark plugs which may cause exhaust manifold or header clearance issues.

Re: L98 aluminum heads
They are not high performance anymore but they are better then stockers. Make sure the combustion chamber volume won't put you out of pump gas ability and that the spark plugs will fit then run em.
