Re: tamco dtm primer

I just ordered some from autobody101.com ,I am not affiliated with them, they had the best price i could find. I got the rust one. I liked that it reduced the amount of products I needed to buy and they seemed to have a decent reputation.

Re: tamco dtm primer

I have and it is good stuff - fills sanding scratches well and sands nice and easy. I let it sit for a month and did not notice any sanding scratches reappear due to shrinkage.

I will say that I did need a bigger spray tip to get it to flow out properly. A 1.7 tip just didn't cut it for me and left me with more orange peel than I wanted to sand out. A 1.9 tip solved that problem. The primer was left in a 55 degree shop so that may have been the issue. Not yet sure. The next time I use it the temp will be much higher so I will know for sure by then. Perhaps putting the can in warm water first would have solved it too.

Good Luck

Re: tamco dtm primer

Anyone use the paint from Tamco? They have a good deal in SS urethane right now and I am thinking on using it.

Re: tamco dtm primer

My DTM 2K just showed up, it looks like it was direct shipped from Tamco. I sent them an email to see what kind of paint chips they have available. I also liked the process they lay out on their blog in regards to the steps in the refinish process. If I read it correctly this DTM primer can be thinned out and used as a sealer.
