My New Year's eve baby.....

Can't believe it still.... acquired this Project Panel on the last day of 2012!

1968 GMC ~ 1/2 ton Panel ( has a '70 Chevy front clip presently )

Was originally a straight 6, 3ott. Now has a 350/350 out of an '86 Silverado. Came with a second set of barn doors & front doors also. Gonna need a moderate amount of body work. Starts runs & drives though.
The 'bullet holes' in the passenger side are gonna stay (were Hollywood created as this was used in a movie filmed in Maine).
More photos as I get going on this. A lot will have to wait until Spring.
If you click on the image, it should take you to the Photobucket album for this GMC.

Re: My New Year's eve baby.....

Thanks Doug. I'm wanting to give her a face lift by getting a correct GMC front clip. Love the quad beams. The buckets were from a later model GM passenger car, according to the PO. He still has the original 3ott column but didn't offer it to me. I have tilts from '74-'91; gonna check for fitment.
Got a fair piece of body work to do ~ I'm thinking that this panel is gonna be difficult to get repair panels for. Any suggestions are VERY welcome.

Congrats on getting a panel truck!
There are some patch panels out there you can use, mainly a cross between PU and Suburban stuff. For the GMC stuff I would keep an eye out on the parts area of the forum.

Re: My New Year's eve baby.....

Glad to see another panel saved. Mine was almost crushed, got it for $300. What patch panels do you need?
