Re: is this normal???

I found a Dana 44 cover laying on the ground in a junkyard that had a short pipe welded to the upper area on the cover, with a pipe plug on the end of it--same plug as the fill plug. I'm using it on the front of my K10, to get me around the tie rod when I'm filling it, which is right in the way of the factory fill plug.

It was a manufactured piece, neatly done, not by some hack mechanic.

sweet. too bad the factory didnt make it easier to service for the buyer vs. taking it back to the dealer, great junkyard score!!!

Re: is this normal???

I bought a 12v transfer pump. Makes filling trans/transfercase/axles easy. funny it said not for gear lube, works fine though. (warm the gear lube first)
