Can this be fixed without filler?

It is possible to get behind this dent and push it back out? I really do not want to use filler in this area as I think it would not hold. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA.

i assume you mean the gap in the jamb? pic not clear to me. if so i would pull it.

Yes, the jamb. The leading edge has been pushed in about a 1/4". I was going to remove the seat and tank and see if I could get behind there, but I am not sure I can.

You can use a spot gun. You could metal finish it if you have the skill and time. It would be easier to work out as much as you can with a spot gun/hammer/dolly then do a skim pass of filler.

lf you don't have a spot gun like suggested above, you could weld [tack weld] a strip of scrap on there and pull it with a come-a-long and it should pull pretty easy. Also You need not worry about filler there if prepped right you will be fine.

You could also weld some tig filler rod on there to fill the void and then grind smooth, so the actual edge is at least steel

I welded along that area evening up the door gaps, and I think I angered some deep down 40 year old rust that was hanging out between the spot welds. That's the only place that has started to rust on my truck.

I would be cautious welding in that area.

I am planning on using a hammer and dolly, but if I have to weld it, then that is what I will do. I do not have any welding equipment so I will have to hire it done.

Our local Rent tool place has welders you can rent. Otherwise I hired a portable welder to do some work once it wasn't to high of a price

Use a straight edge to determine how much of the jam needs to come forward ,

Using your cut off wheel cut 1"in from the edge to 1/2" past the length you want to move forward
using a stud gun pin ang pull forward from the door jam that section lightly until your happy with the fit . Tack weld patch panel in place and work as usual.

Most all doors have a distortion in that area from the manufactor processing of the door panel , you can add multiple tacks to build up the area or tack some rod in place and grind to fit , this area gets overlooked many time even on high end truck builds . Have fun , but remember it's only metal ...

Yes, get some round stock, got mine at lowes... think it was 1/8th thick, welded in, oshpo then painted...well not painted yet... weld stuff dont use that bondo as less as you can, ish cracks and ruins everything
