2 paint questions

Thanks guys.

1) Had a truck that someone sparayed the outer white rocker/kick panels with a clear type hard epoxy. Could barely tell it was on unless you were within 10 feet ..... and this stuff was crazy hard/impossible to scratch. Any ideas what it was ?

2) Firewall paint. Was planning on just using good old rustoleum black. Probabaly welding in patches for the existing fireall holes. Anything else that can be done to help with insulation/heat without going crazy ? Only other thing I thought of was like
