1950 Chevy 3100 frame Dimensions

I am starting a 1950 chevy 3100 (1300) "Canadian version" restauration and have found that the frame is bent and cracked. Does anybody have factory frame dimensions for this truck?

Re: 1950 Chevy 3100 frame Dimensions

Thanks, I read this specs document carefully and could not find actual frame dimension just widths with running boards and fenders installed for example.
I am looking for the c frame diameters between front and rear engine mount crossmembers. Just wondering if the frame rails are supposed to be parallel with each other or not. That big farm bumper in the front has caused frame damage over the years.

If you are thinking about building a frame,
consider just putting the sheet metal onto an S10 pickup.

Re: 1950 Chevy 3100 frame Dimensions

I just want to repair this one and bring the truck back to original. I can repair the crack but the front crosmember is kinked so i was jus looking for the diameter of the frame in the front half of the truck at a few key locations.

The s-10 conversion is very tempting but i'm not at that point yet, but could easily be convinced.

Here you go.

http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...51ctsm0202.htm

I'll suggest buying one of these. http://www.classicindustries.com/pro...ts/tm1047.html

It's worth it. It has in depth dimensions on everything related to the 47-54 trucks. The Frame dimensions it has are for a 54/55 1st series, though. The only difference is the amount of kick above the rear axle.
