fender gromets

Trying to figure out my basket case puzzle. Have found the grommets and little pipes that go in the lower inside fender mounts both front and back. Now it looks like the out side fender rear bottom bolt should have the same kind of grommet and pipe in it. I can't seem to find anybody selling them or even listing them, Are they the same grommet? The assemble manual seems to show them if i understand what I'm looking at. Thanks for any info.

Re: fender gromets

The bottom rear fender bracket attached to the cab only uses a large flat fender washer and maybe a shim or two. Bracket has large hole so you can adjust position of fender properly. Bolt size is 3/8-24 thread

Re: fender gromets

both of you should follow the link in my signature so you never forget the year truck in a post

i believe svr has a tf, if you have a factory assembly manual look in sect 11 sheet 5
yes it shows the same grommet on the lower fender bolt as used on the lower inner fender bolt
these allow the sheet metal to flex a little as the frame twists
the tube spacer allows the bolt to be tight and still allow a little movement

I guessed TF because of SVRs other posts. You are correct and will update my project in signature in near future.

Looked at assembly Manual and you are right there is a grommet. It appears to be different than the 4 inner fender ones. Inner spacers are 5/16 and one for fender is 3/8dia. Never had them on my 57. I did a search and found no info. In process of putting my ft fenders back on and would like to find some.

Re: fender gromets

Classic parts has them, I got a set of four for my truck. Used to isolate the front clip vibration from cab and radiator.

Re: fender gromets

I have the same set of 4 from Classic Parts for the inner fenders, but the ones located at the bottom rear of the fender appear to be different.

Re: fender gromets

Thanks for the reminder Ogre, gotta remember I'm old with a bad case of CRS. Yes I have a set for the inner fenders but like Fitz says the assembly manual has different part numbers for the outside fender, I'll try one of the inner's on the outside sure looks like it should fit.
