Bed Bolt list - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

All:

I am trying to assemble a full list of the bolts required for a long steel floor fleetside. This includes bedsides, front panel, and wheel tubs. I am missing some stuff. Please help me fill in the gaps:

Front panel:

qty 11 carriage 5/16-18x3/4
qty 6 hex ???
qty 4 hex ???

Bed Floor:

qty 16 carriage 5/16-18x3/4

Wheeltubs

qty 14 screws ???
qty 22 carriage 5/16-18x3/4

As you can see, I am missing the hex sizes for the front panel bolts as well as the screws for the wheetubs. In addition, I am not sure how the front panel is supposed to mount to the bed floor (mine was all rusted). I see sources showing carriage bolts, but the front panel from Mar-K has round holes down there instead of square. Now, I am perfectly OK with just using a regular hex head as that's hidden, bur I want to make sure I am not missing something obvious.

Brothers has a complete bolt kit, 49.99.

I have read this is way less expensive than ordering a kit, would like to find out myself.

I don't have a bolt count yet ether.

you could buy a bolt kit and see how many is in it

Wes might give you the info. though that would sort of cut into his business. never hurts to ask though.
