Post best deal I ever got!!!!!

I just got home from an auction where I bought a 1963?? 327 complete with less than 500mi on an overhaul, the guy told me all this after I bought the engine and I have known this guy for years, I gave $20 for it, has alluminum spread bore intake, later model heads with accessory holes drilled and tapped. I'm on my way back to load it up...WOOOOHHHHOOOO!!!!!!!

he said it ran about 2 weeks and started burning oil like it was going out of style, took it out, took the heads off, no scored cylinders, but the guy that assembled it for him broke an oil ring. It has a new rv cam, new pistons, everything.....I'm so happy, I had to leave the sale early so everyone wouldn't think I was nuts or something, I can't keep still!!!!

I just took the heads off and the pistons were in there shining at me, lifters showed no wear at all, except of the very light rings where they had made a few turns, boared .060, and found out why it burned so much oil, ready for this???

several pieces of an oil ring laying in the pan!!!! can you say whoops!!!

I'm gonna get rings and gaskets next week and be ready to go into the truck.

still grinning from ear to ear, I keep going out to the barn to look at the shiny pistons and the shiny crank, I still can't believe it!!! Oh yeah, and my truck is just as happy as I am, that old 350 is getting pretty tired and was going to need an overhaul, this way it doesn't have to be down very long and has a 327, I'm soooo frickin' happy!!!!
