Post 1969 CST/20 Longhorn ? To buy or not to buy?

I know it is very hard to give an opinion from a description but please let me know what you think.
A friend of mine is going to sell his 1969 CST/20 Longhorn, 396, TH400, AC, PB, PS he drives it daily and other than some leaks it is sound. The body is OK the bed has some rust. This truck has been in Arizona all its life.
I am thinking of buying it from him but want to be fair since I'm not in the market for one, but think it would be to good to let go.

I'd love to find a longhorn, not many, if any in this area, and I don't have any money, so, I guess I won't get one. I say if the price is right, jump on it, you can always sell it later, if you don't fall head over heels in love with it!! which you will.

He is going to ask $4000 and I can get the special friends discount of something less I'm thinking $3000 to $3500 is what he will take.

Everyone knows what I'm gonna say. BUY IT
Blue is right, the CST is not found very often on anything bigger than a C/10. The '69 Longhorn was the highest production year, selling 8797 3/4 tons. While that seems like alot, it's still less than 9 thousand sold.
Check out my Longhorn site. I spent most the day (off and on) working on it.
If you get it, I would like pics. (if you don't get it, I'd like pics)
I try to get every bit of info and every image that I can get my hands on.
Oh, BTW, 4K isn't a bad price for a rust free good condition daily driver.

I've been dubbed the Longhorn Freak/Fanatic/Expert, I just hope I can live up to it.
FINALLY got the HORNIAC...a '70 one ton Longhorn with a Pontiac 350/350 and lots of 'personality'. Check out The Longhorn Webite.
If you need a pic posted, E-mail me at longhornmail@yahoo.com

Thumbs up

Mine is a Sierra Grande and even though I had to rebuild the motor it was well worth it. It is a great feeling knowing you own a rare breed of truck. When the time is right, hopefully all will get to see it on longhornmails longhorn sight. Hope you deside to get it.
