Springs on top of rear axle?

69 C-10 longbed 1/2 ton.

There are additional coil springs on top of my rear axle, and I know this isn't the best source of info, but they aren't shown in the LMC catalog.

Is this the "heavy duty rear spring" option?

I don't have an original spid, and I'm a newbie, so thought I'd ask.

Thanks.

Re: Springs on top of rear axle?

Yup, definitely aftermarket overloads. I had those on my K20 for many years before replacing them with Hellwig leaf packs a few years ago.

Re: Springs on top of rear axle?

I have a similar set in my garage floor that came off my truck along with the actual overload springs and plates which these trucks came with. No need for them with airbags

Come by McKinney some week day and I will. They look fairly easy to remove. Can't take more than 20 minutes...

This statement causes more trouble for rednecks like my self than almost any other words that can be said...
My wife already knows that when I say things like that plan on the whole day being shot haha.

DITTO. I can easily make a 20 minute job take at least half of a day!

Had the truck in the shop getting power steering, and asked them to get these off while it was in there. Just sent you my cell by PM. Swing by with a six pack of Shiner Bock and they're yours.

Awesome. Got your PM. I'll call next week because I'm out of town until Tuesday. I can come over during the day and bring my truck.

Love it! Better make it a half-rack though. Back when I was still drinking and stuff was paid for with beer, it was usually shared on the spot....
