Re: Would you use nos power steering hoses.

I think I will try them. the rubber looks nice and I believe they were kept nice. if they don't work out ill maby use them for template and surely I can find someone to make new ones if I look hard enough.

I figure if the rubber isn't checked now when you bend it tight they are still good. The crimp doesn't go bad, it's the rubber it's crimped to. Those will fit tighter with fluid and pressure

Re: Would you use nos power steering hoses.

If Special K says so it's probably so. My thinking was the inside of the hose might be compromised.

Re: Would you use nos power steering hoses.

Hey, I ain't the final word on nuffin . mostly, I just don't see what the big deal is. If they leak, oh well. I figure the concern is the expense. But, it seems Rod's attitude is he wants them right and as he says, if they're bad, he still had to buy them to have ones to model after. That could be done with old shot ones, if he had them. I can't wait to see this truck done!

Re: Would you use nos power steering hoses.

are any of the hose part numbers the same as those for corvette? if so, typically the corvette stuff is very good current quality and if a corvette vendor does not have it he can contact his supplier to see if a "custom" hose can be made up. Suppliers would love to expand thier market.

The rule in general aviation is two years on the shelf and two years firewall forward.
