New to me 1965 c10 (need to fix electrical drain and lower rear end)

So I bought the truck I was posting about the other day. Lady wanted $10,500 but I offered $8k and walked away with it. I think I still might have overpaid for it though. I keep finding new surprises everytime I turn around. She claimed it was restored but I'm thinking it was more cleaned up and painted, very little filler in it though. It does have a lot going for it vintage air kit, new bushings in front end, new seat cover, new upholstery, 4 speed, V8, power discs in front, power steering, new shocks, new tires, new clutch, new intake/carb/radiator/alternator. Not a huge fan of the sunroof but it's growing on me.

Things I need to fix, there is something on one of the heater core lines that is draining the battery. I posted a picture, anyone know what this is? I also need to lower the rear end, the rake is crazy. I'm thinking 3 inches would do it but maybe more? Emergency brake needs fixing too. Little leaks here and there but solid driver. Needs a radio though.

What do you guys think?

This is running constantly and draining my battery

Little stuff like this here and there which is annoying but understandable. It's a driver not a show truck

that's your water control valve it cuts the hot water flow off from the heater core while the ac is on. make sure the ac unit has keyed power instead of battery power when your ignition switch off...nice looking truck but I see you need some roof and a pillar repair.

Yeah the more and more I look at it I can definitely tell there was some rust that wasn't really treated well and was painted over. However, I'm just super pumped to finally own one of these trucks. It's a driver so I'm not going to worry about it being perfect. I think I have probably put 200 miles on it just over the weekend. Wish I had a cruising gear on the SM465 but other than that and other little things I'm loving it.

I like it. I think you did really good for 8K. Mine wasn't nearly that nice and we paid $4000 for our 64 step side. (305 V8 w/ 3 spd manual on the floor)

If you bought a rough truck, and spent 8k, it wouldn't be as good as this one. Nice starting point, for sure. It would look good with the grill surround done the factory way (if you need another project, lol).

Nice ride !!! Get a pair of dropped springs and shocks for the rear, and drive it and have fun.

I reckon that's a pretty sweet buy for $8k. Does it have a sun roof? On one of the pics it looks like it does.

My truck has a similar rake, but not as low as the front (think mine has 2" springs in the front and stock in the rear). I'm gonna get some drop spindles and 4" springs for the rear to level it out a bit more.
