Re: Need your experience, thoughts on a detroit true trac

Is this for the front or the rear?
I used to run one in the front of a truck that had both 35" and 40" tires (at drfferent times of course) and it preformed very well with both. That truck had a Detroit Locker in the rear though.
I have absolutely no experience with a Tru-Trac in the rear...

Should be fine. I know a guy running a Tru-Trac behind a 600hp smallblock in a 2WD pickup and it has held up just fine, even with big sticky tires.

Detroit Tru-Trac front and Locker rear is my favorite combo.True,I haven't tried much else.Never had a reason to switch.I've had 6 or 7 trucks with that combo.I'm sure a Tru-Trac in the rear would be a fine off road/street device.
