Another Headlight problem 94 suburban

I tried searching for this problem but I didn't find anything. My headlights are the only thing not working, park lights, rear lights, signals all come on. First thing's first I noticed that the T/G REL fuse was blowning out as soon as a fuse was put in, I found out that there was a penny in the cigarat lighter socket that problem was solved but I don't know is this is related to the headlight problem.

I spliced the headlight wires from along side of the fender and connected them directly to the battery and the lows and highs come on, connecting their respective wires. I also checked the wires at the switch colors are brown, red, yellow, orange. I placed a jumper on the brown and red-only park lights come on, jumped the brown and yellow-nothing(assume that is for the high beam switch), jumped the brown and orange- park lights come on.

I have isolated the problem to under the dash somewhere, but still don't know what it could be.

Could it just be a bad switch?

Yeah I'd check the back of the switch when you turn it on, park lights and tails are a different cicuit then headlights.

I bought a replacement switch and it's not the switch.

The high beam - low beam switch on the lower part of the steering column could have failed.

I was thinking that too, but I don't know what it looks like.

It is a three wire switch.

Number 68 in the illustration:

I will see if it can find a better photo of one.

This is a 1995 Camaro photo but it shows exactly how it is bolted down with the ignition switch:

Here is Oldsmobile photos, and on the second photo down, the white portion of the switch shows on the left, just below the big mounting bracket.

Let me know if you need more photos.
